Religious Education

Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ is a Religious Education program endorsed by the Catholic Bishops of Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories and developed in collaboration with Catholic educators from across Canada.

The program is based on the Catholic Elementary Curriculum Policy Document for Religious Education -Grades 1-8, the Catholic School Kindergarten Program, and the Catholic Secondary Curriculum Policy Document for Religious Education - Grades 9– 12, which has been approved by the Catholic Bishops and Regional Assemblies of Bishops. It reflects the content of faith expressed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and follows the rationale and methodology of the General Directory for Catechesis.

Our Mission

The mission of Our Lady of Peace School is to provide a Catholic education that nurtures students to grow in mind, body, and spirit, guided by the wisdom and grace of the Holy Spirit.

Our Vision

As a Christ-centered community, we believe in a holistic way of growth and learning. We foster healthy relationships through collaboration, inquiry, critical thinking, and reflection. Everyone is welcome and has a ‘place in the circle’ as we learn about who we are, where we come from and where we are going. Cultural awareness and diversity are at the root of who we are and how we learn.

At Our Lady of Peace Catholic School, we believe in growing healthy hearts, minds, and spirits. On this journey, children come to realize their potential. They bring to life the best version of themselves.

Our Charism

In the tradition of our patron saint, Blessed Mother Mary, our charism is peace and the love of Christ be with you.

The Program ranges from Kindergarten to Grade Twelve, and offers students with an overview of our Catholic faith as well as grade specific themes.

Sacramental Preparation:

Our Lady of Peace School is happy to work in partnership with St. John the Evangelist Parish to support parents and children in preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. Sacramental Sessions are offered year round. Please contact the parish for more details.
